CWNE Application Experience

This is where I will share my experience of applying for the CWNE certification. I hope this timeline helps those in all parts of their certification journey see that there are hills and there are valleys. Sometimes things move slow but once you grasp the concepts, nothing can stop sheer will-power and an unlimited training budget!

I began my career without much direction. I knew that I had to learn as much as possible about multiple different subjects and was frequently advised to become well-rounded. I took the A+, and Net+ exams first. I found that I enjoyed networking quite a bit so I went for my CCNA. At this point I was working for an MSP as a Systems/Desktop Admin. I then focused on Microsoft’s exams to acquire an MCSA in Server 2012R2. The timeline below starts from this point.

I began studying for the CCNP R&S in Q4 of 2015 after completing my MCSA:2012R2.
